Couples Therapy

Relationships are made up of two people — and the many parts each person carries. In couples therapy, we use Internal Family Systems (IFS) to gently explore how your inner worlds interact with one another, and how those interactions shape the dynamic between you.

Every partner brings their own history, emotions, and protective patterns. When these parts feel threatened or overwhelmed, they can create distance, misunderstandings, or reactive cycles that are hard to shift on your own. None of this means the relationship is broken — it simply means there are parts needing attention and support.

IFS couples therapy offers a compassionate way to understand each other more deeply. Together, we slow down enough to notice what’s happening beneath the surface — the fears, longings, and protective strategies that shape your communication. As each partner learns to listen inwardly, you’ll also begin listening to each other with more empathy and clarity.

In our work together, you and your partner will learn to:

  • recognize the parts that get activated in moments of conflict

  • understand each other’s inner worlds with curiosity instead of defensiveness

  • communicate from a calmer, more grounded place

  • repair ruptures with compassion

  • reconnect with the qualities of your core Selves — the love, openness, and courage that drew you together

When both partners can show up from a more grounded place, the entire relationship shifts. You create room for honest connection, supportive communication, and a shared sense of trust and safety.

If you’re looking for a new way to understand each other, work through challenges, and grow together, IFS couples therapy offers a meaningful and effective path forward.
